Analysis of Disconnected by Jazz Morley

The song ‘disconnected’ is very emotional and heartfelt, Jazz Morley wrote this song for her brother who is fighting in Afghanistan. Straight away you can tell what type of mood is being conveyed, Jazz is expressing how she cares for her brother through her music. The mood and tone of this song is quite depressing and very emotional, emotion is portrayed in a great way, and this is shown by recording the song acoustically, which in generally always dampens the mood. You wouldn’t want to listen to this song if you needed cheering up.

This song sounds similar to the artist Adele, personally I don’t know anything about Adele’s music, but I have heard it on the radio, and it is quite depressing, its sometimes acoustic and both Jazz and Adele have similar voices, except Adele’s is more powerful.

Firstly I would put this song into the acoustic genre. I believe this because the only instrument in the song is a piano, no electric guitars or any other electrical instruments.
